Taking part in the auction is simple. Below is a quick step-by-step guide to placing a bid, what happens if you are outbid, and what to expect if you win.
A note from the Mane Events team
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking part in our charity auction.
A lot of work has gone into securing auction lots from wonderful companies and individuals who genuinely support our chosen charities.
If you are the winning bidder for an auction lot, you are required to complete your purchase. Please only place a bid if you are serious about paying for the item or experience if you win.
If you are successful, you will be able to pay through the Pay Now link in your winner email or through My Auctions in your account area.
For physical items, we aim to arrange collection or delivery within 10 working days of receiving payment. Postage or delivery fees may apply unless the item can be delivered by us or collected by arrangement.
Where we are able to offer more than one of the same auction lot, we may contact the next highest bidder to ask whether they would like to match the winning bid.
Thank you for supporting Mane Events and our chosen charities. We hope you enjoy the auction and have an incredible time at our events.
1. Create an account or log in
To place a bid, you will need to be logged in.
If you do not already have an account, you can create one using your name and email address. This helps us keep the auction fair and allows us to contact the winning bidder when an auction ends.
After registering, you may be sent an email asking you to confirm your email address and set your password. Please click the link in that email to complete your registration before placing a bid.
If you do not receive the email, please check your spam or junk folder. You may also need to add our email address to your safe sender list.
You do not need to add payment details before bidding. If you win an auction lot, you will receive a payment link and will need to complete payment after the auction closes.
2. Browse the auction lots
Each auction lot has its own page showing:
- the item or experience being auctioned
- the current bid
- the time left
- the auction end date and time
- whether a reserve price applies
- the bidding box
- the auction history
Please read the lot description carefully before bidding.
3. Place your bid
Enter the amount you would like to bid and click Bid.
Your bid must meet the required minimum bid amount. If your bid is accepted, you will see confirmation on the auction page.
By placing a bid, you are agreeing to pay that amount if you are the winning bidder.
Please only place a bid if you are happy to pay the amount entered.
4. If you are outbid
If someone places a higher bid, you will no longer be the highest bidder.
You may receive an email notification letting you know that you have been outbid.
You can return to the auction page at any time before the auction ends and place another bid.
5. If your bid is winning
If you are currently the highest bidder, the auction page will show that your bid is winning.
The auction is not complete until the countdown has ended. Other bidders may still place higher bids before the auction closes.
6. Reserve prices
Some auction lots may have a reserve price.
This means the auction has a minimum amount that must be reached before the lot can be won.
If the reserve price has not been met, the auction page may show a message such as Reserve price has not been met.
If the auction ends and the reserve has not been reached, the lot may not be awarded.
7. What happens if you win
If you are the highest bidder when the auction ends, and any reserve price has been met, you are the winning bidder.
You should be able to see your won auction by logging in to your account and selecting My Auctions from the account menu.
You should also receive an email with a Pay Now link so that you can complete payment for your winning auction lot.
If the email does not arrive, please log in to your account and check My Auctions, as the payment link may also be available there.
8. Paying for a won auction
Winning bidders should complete payment as soon as possible after the auction ends.
You can pay using the Pay Now link in My Auctions or in your winner email.
Once payment is complete, your winning auction lot will be confirmed.
9. If payment is not completed
Winning bids should be paid promptly.
If payment is not completed, the lot may be offered to another bidder, withdrawn, or made available again.
If there is a problem with payment, please contact the us as soon as possible.
10. Your account area
Once logged in, your account area may show:
- your bids
- auctions you are watching
- auctions you have won
- payment links for won auctions
- orders created after payment
Please make sure your email address is correct, as auction updates and payment links are sent by email.
After registering your email address, you may be sent an email asking you to confirm your account and set your password. Please click the link in that email to complete your registration before placing a bid.
If you do not receive the email, please check your spam or junk folder. You may also need to add our email address to your safe sender list.
Important note
Please only bid if you are happy to pay the amount you enter. A winning bid is a commitment to buy the auction lot and support the fundraising event.
